Get Involved
We at CB4PC have been asked on several occasions, ‘Where do we start?’ Starting a campaign can be overwhelming! We’ve put together a document to help which you can download here.
If you have questions along the way, ask them of SSEN and demand answers and keep a file of their responses. If they don’t respond keep a file of that too.
You will be able to say more in an email than their restrictive response forms allow. Copy in your elected representatives. Find them here: www.writetothem.com. Just enter your postcode.
Every area should mount its own local objection and lobby its own community councils and all elected representatives. Speak to your neighbours and local businesses and see if they will join our campaign. Download and sign our petition.
Your local authority must be under no illusion as to the strength of feeling against SSEN’s appalling proposals. The transmission lines are a Section 37 and will ultimately be determined by the Scottish Government.
Find out about the environmental issues, protected wildlife and archaeological sites but keep them to yourself. Don’t do SSEN’s work for them. Make them do proper studies and we will be able to expose their lack of research when they submit their plans.
Remember, no one knows your area better than you do.
When the time comes, objections to SSEN’s planning applications must flood in. Planning Councillors in your own area need to be kept informed of how communities are fighting against this invasion of industrial hardware in their environment.
It is key to our campaign that our local authorities object to trigger a Public Inquiry where legal representations can be made.
Tell your friends and neighbours how to find us and about SSEN’s proposals because people are telling us that many simply do not know what is about to hit them. Please print off some of our leaflet suggestion or design your own and do your own deliveries to those not on social media or computer savvy.
Consider raising your own funds to put up banners and posters in and around your community. This has been highly successful in the past alerting people to threatened rural industrialization in their locality.
www.vinylbannersprinting.co.uk have the best prices we have found. Email Thomas at thomas@vinylbannersprinting.co.uk. Make sure you ask for hemming and 50cm spaced eyelets for strength.
Send an image in of what you want or they will help design your own. Please make them hard hitting if you do. We need to grab the attention of the media and the public. We can help you with your ideas if you contact us.
Please go here if you wish to use our artwork for your own leaflets.
Please do not change our banners in any way without our agreement.
Lyndsey still has a few banners left to sell that she bought personally so contact us if you are interested in buying any from her – or message her directly on Facebook.
The sizes she has are: 2ft x 6ft and 3ft x 9ft but you can get other sizes to suit your space if you buy from suppliers.
Make sure you secure them firmly on your own property otherwise they may get removed.
Please contact Donna Peacock via Facebook if you want posters, leaflets, business cards, car stickers. The business cards with our logo on are a brilliant addition for spreading the word. Easy to carry and hand out to people you may meet who are opposed to SSEN’s devastating plans. They come with a QR code to take people directly to our website.
Write letters to the press expressing your concern. Please click here to find a list of press contacts.
If you wish to donate to our cause please deposit your donations here:

Look at it as an investment for your future. Just £100 from 100 homes is a good fighting fund for public awareness for your own area with perhaps a donation to the wider movement. It can be done.
If you wish to make a donation in another way please contact us.
BE LOUD AND BE PERSISTENT AND WE WILL MAKE SSEN AND OUR GOVERNMENT LISTEN TO US.
